Staff Meeting
The staff meeting is held once in a month on the last Saturday. There shall be shorter hours to
facilitate this.
The meeting shall be for a duration of one hour ideally.
It shall highlight the attainments of the month and indicate the plans for the next.
IQAC shall facilitate the meeting from a quality assurance angle, and present action plans in this
regard.
It shall have a component of Faculty Development by one of the faculty members.
Besides, on a regular basis outcome based education shall be familiarized to the faculty team by
each department taking turns, as to how they have articulated learning outcomes and how they are
being ensured.
The achievements, accomplishments and special days of the staff members are remembered and
celebrated on the occasion.
Community singing etc. are to be encouraged depending on the time available.

Staff Welfare Measures
Sacred Heart Degree college considers the staff as partners in the noble mission of providing quality higher
education. They are consulted and taken into confidence regarding the various measures initiated, and their
views are sought for continuous improvement.
The college tries to promote an environment of cordiality, fellowship and teamwork, as per the CMI vision of
education.
With its very limited resources it tries to fulfil all the mandatory welfare requirements, besides being
considerate regarding advancing money or enquiring into the welfare of the staff members in emergencies like
illnesses.
The following measures are in place to ensure staff welfare:
PF & Gratuity and ESI as applicable will be covered by the college
Employee credit society?? Chit Funds? Cooperative – say everyone contributes Rs. 100 minimum per
month, and maximum ??
Mediclaim – insurance provisions or support? Say, group Mediclaim – can we provide 25% of the
amount?
Leave surrender – up to of one’s permitted casual leave could be surrendered – full encashment for
Non-teaching? Half-encashment for faculty? This could be a great incentive.
Flexi Leave: Work on Sundays or Public Holidays, permitted to substitute by taking another
convenient day/half day off – subject to prior approval.
Publishing in recognized journals (UGC CARE) – Rs. 2000.00 for one article.
Seminar/Conference Presentation – subject to the approval of the Principal – a maximum of Rs.
5000.00 per annum (registration fees/travel allowance) for those who have completed two years in
service.
Up to Rs. 1000/- for those who are in probation.
One increment of Rs. 500.00 on attaining NET wef the month of submitting the certificate.
One increments of Rs. 1000.00 on attaining Ph D.
Annual Staff Get Together @ Rs. 200 p.h. – to be budgeted (Even Semester)
Annual Staff Tour/Picnic @ Rs. 500 p.h. – to be budgeted (Odd Semester)
Annual festival allowance @ Rs. 1000.00 together with Christmas after Christmas celebration.
(*Those who avail Mediclaim shall not be provided with the annual festival allowance).
CL encashment: In the month of July, (i) CL for the previous academic year shall be assessed, and CLs,
remaining unused, shall be cancelled against the CLs against which salary was deducted for going
beyond the monthly quota. (ii) CLs not utilised can be surrendered for encashment, to a maximum
limit of 50% (7), and the encashment will be at par with the amount of deduction.
Note: The salary deductions on account of unallowable or extra leaves could be set aside on a monthly basis
under the head of Staff Welfare.
